Daylight lighting (or 5000K on the Kelvin temperature scale) represents the color of the light on the color spectrum. Generally, the higher the temperature, the cooler the color. For example, typical incandescent bulbs are in the 2700-2800K degree range which is why their light has a yellow cast. So, when purchasing Daylight (5000K) bulbs note that these will be a much different (towards the blue spectrum) color than what you are used to.
